The School will be held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Minneapolis, and will last from Noon-9 pm. The $85 registration fee includes dinner. This training is open to all supporters, but less than half of the original 500 seats offered remain, so be sure to sign up today!

We’re getting some exciting news from the folks over at C-Span. Nothing is set in stone, but as of right now, they plan to broadcast our afternoon events of September 2 live on C-Span, broadcast the evening events live on C-Span 2, AND send their Campaign Bus for a three hour block to do some additional special coverage.
As a rule of thumb, C-Span attracts about 400,000 viewers for an original broadcast, and then about 250,000 during the multiple (usually three) re-airs. That means that over 1.1 million people will be able to hear our message of freedom, peace and prosperity across the country.
But, added attention means added scrutiny. We need you more than ever to come to Minneapolis and make this the biggest rally for liberty ever!

The Wall Street Journal reports:
The [Massachusetts] state board of elections recently certified that citizen activists have gathered the 125,000 signatures required to qualify an initiative for the November ballot to eliminate the state income tax. The Small Government Act would repeal the 5.3% income and wage tax, as well as the state capital gains tax, which reaches as high as 12%. The ballot initiative would replace the $12.5 billion in taxes with . . . nothing.
Now we’re talking! Does that last line sound familiar to anyone?
Carla Howell of the Committee for Small Government is the hero driving this referendum. Find out more at SmallGovernmentAct.org
The same initiative got 45% of the vote in 2002!

In a real shocker, former Rep. Jim Ryun lost his primary in Kansas’s second Congressional district yesterday(thanks to Reid Wilson at RCP).
Ryun, a former track star and celebrity in Kansas, lost as an incumbent in 2006 to Democrat Nancy Boyda. Ryun is know for his strong personal character and, traditionally, as a principled Conservative. But, when he got in trouble in 2006, he ran on things that aren’t very conservative - like loud support for the Iraq war and an interventionist foreign policy.
Ryun was also highly critical of North American Union opponents, irking Conservatives and blue dog swing voters alike.
These two issues helped drag him down form a 15 point victory in 2004 to losing his seat by four points in 2006 to losing the GOP primary in 2008. Quite a fall.
So, the lesson for Republicans: voters like American sovereignty. Policing the world? Not so much.
